What's New at Jellyneo: March 2024
  • Posted by Kenny
  • Posted on March 1, 2024, 5:30 pm NST

This weekend, we're starting a new monthly tradition: an update on all things new and refreshed at Jellyneo!

Normally, we'll highlight anything from the previous calendar month, but since it's our first time doing this, we're including the first two months of the year for this inaugural post.

Pet Styles Overview and Listing
With the release of Pet Styles, we've launched not only a comprehensive guide but also updated our pet colour listing to feature them.

Neomail Guide
Learn more about the quirks and lesser-known features of Neopia's one and only electronic mail system that lets you send, receive, and organize direct messages in our brand new Neomail guide:

Neopets Jr. and Jamba Juice Retrospectives
Over at the Book of Ages, we've compiled a pair of brand new retrospectives on defunct site features.

Altador Cup Date Graphics
Altador Cup season may not begin until May, but at Jellyneo we are prepping all year round! The latest update: some new graphics to better communicate the competition timeline, both for the current year and in retrospect.

Jellyneo Winter Events
Although we call it December Trivia, this annual tradition ends on January 2nd! Trophies went out to everyone who answered at least one trivia question correctly.

Did you miss any this year? Set a reminder now for December 26, 2024!

Meanwhile, our Battlepedia team hosted the Blizzard Brawl event, where players competed to earn the most points against a pair of challengers each day for 7 days.

Updated Article Listings
Our comprehensive listing of articles got even more comprehensive! We've added links to a bunch of content, particularly content that lives in one of our departments other than the main Jellyneo site:

Updated Contribution Needs
All of the content and updates you find here on Jellyneo are brought to you by our volunteer staff, but we are on the lookout for helping hands in multiple areas, which we list on our "Contribute to Jellyneo" page. (If you do help, you'll receive full credit to a name of your choice!) Last month, we refreshed the page with all sorts of new ideas we've had sitting on our backlog, from game guide enhancements & level solutions to historical retrospectives and more:

(Alternatively, if you want to help us out in a larger capacity, check our Join Jellyneo page for our current open volunteer opportunities!)

Add to Wishlists from Price Checkers & Content Sets
You may now add items to your Item Database wishlists directly from our Price Checker tools! Previously we only offered that ability on our Checklist tools and via the Wishlist Import Tool.

In addition, we've added the ability for you to add items found in other items, such as the contents of Mystery Capsules, directly to one of your wishlists.

By the way, you can follow along with all Item Database updates on our Item Database Change Log!

Recurrent Guide Updates
Some site features are perennially updated by TNT, and so our articles about them are too!

Finally, we are always adding new entries to our databases. You can keep up with them at any time!

If you discovered something delightful or useful above, make our day month by letting us know in the comments. Happy March!

Rubbish Dump Day, Saturday, March 2nd!
  • Posted by Suzuka
  • Posted on March 2, 2024, 12:00 am NST

Welcome to the 1st Saturday of the month: Rubbish Dump Day!

In April 2022, TNT updated the Rubbish Dump to increase the drop rate of "rubbish" eligible for the avatar. (And we've even seen some Hidden Tower items pop up that weren't previously confirmed as prizes!)

The Rubbish Dump is special in that items dropped there appear after a Neopian refreshes the dump. (In other words, refreshing the page gives you the chance to "donate" some rubbish to the queue.) The more people visiting and refreshing, the more rubbish dropped, and the more opportunities there are for avatar items to appear!

Starting now, and continuing all day, here's how you can gather and participate:

If you DON'T have the avatar...
  • Visit the Rubbish Dump in Meridell and refresh to generate rubbish!
  • Claim up to 8 pieces of rubbish to clear the way for more items to appear. (And make sure not to claim anything from the Money Tree or Second-Hand Shoppe... it's 10 items max from all 3 locations combined!)
  • To be safe from accidental clicks, save your last 2 rubbish claims for when an avatar item pops up. (You can claim up to 10 items from the Rubbish Dump per day.)
  • Review our guide to familiarize yourself with which items are eligible for the avatar.

If you DO have the avatar...
  • Visit the Rubbish Dump in Meridell and refresh to help generate rubbish! Even if you have the avatar, refreshing helps generate more "donations" that will show up later. (And that means more opportunities for avatar items to pop up!)
  • Claim up to 10 pieces of rubbish to help clear the way for avatar-eligible items to appear.
  • Be kind and leave the cheaper avatar-eligible items (like the Fading Bottled Faeries) for those who need the avatar! We won't mind, however, if you try sniping a Dung Catapult.

The more the merrier, so share this post with your Neofriends and guildmates!

As you participate, let us know in the comments what junk—or treasures—you've seen or picked up! And let us know if you get the avatar so we can celebrate with you.

Can't get enough rubbish? Mark your calendars and join us on the first Saturday of next month—April 6th—for our next Rubbish Dump Day!

Faerie's Hope Still Offline, Now Getting a Makeover
  • Posted by Dave
  • Posted on March 4, 2024, 10:42 am NST

This morning, TNT posted an update to the Neoboards announcing that the mobile app Faerie's Hope will be going offline for an unspecified amount of time to get some upgrades.

Notably, once it returns the app will be integrated with the upcoming NeoPass login system (the feature that will allow you to sync all of your Neopets game accounts), the app will receive updated servers, and there will be some form of Neopoint rewards for your Neopets.com account. Any progress made in the game up till this point will not transfer.

Also of note, the Faerie's Hope servers have been offline since January 27th, 2024, rendering the game unplayable since then. If you made any in-app purchases in January 2024, TNT is offering refunds if you send an email to [email protected] with "Faerie's Hope Refund" in the subject line and include your purchase receipt.

Read the announcement in full here:

Dear Faerie's Hope Community,

Get ready for an exciting transformation – Faerie's Hope is gearing up for a major makeover!

In our commitment to delivering the best gaming experience, we're temporarily taking Faerie's Hope offline to prepare for an upgraded relaunch with enhanced gameplay.

To all our players, both new and loyal, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your support means the world to us, and we're committed to making every version of Faerie's Hope better for everyone.

If you made a purchase during the month of January in 2024, we will process your refund. Please email your purchase receipt/proof of payment to [email protected] with "Faerie's Hope Refund" in the subject line.

When Faerie's Hope makes its return, get ready to embark on an epic new journey! While we were unable to transfer old account progress to the new servers due to limiting external factors, we're thrilled at the prospect of everyone conquering fresh in-game challenges on a level playing field.

Anticipate a host of exciting upgrades, including a NeoPass integration, on-site Neopoint rewards systems, infrastructure enhancements, bug fixes, and enriched narrative and visual experiences.

Stay tuned for updates as we prepare to launch Faerie's Hope stronger than ever before. Thank you for being an integral part of this journey with us!

Upper Deck TCG Details
  • Posted by Herdy
  • Posted on March 6, 2024, 10:54 am NST

Upper Deck, who are making the upcoming Trading Card Game for Neopets, have today released a landing page with details of what the first release of the TCG will include.

As part of this, they have announced that the two themed starter boxes will each include a code for an exclusive avatar, and the avatar will be different based on which themed box you buy. (We confirmed this with Upper Deck: in other words, two new avatars for the two boxes.) There is no release date or ordering information available currently.

However, the landing page also includes a link to sign up for a newsletter to receive news of the TCG as it releases. Signing up for this newsletter enters you into a sweepstakes competition, the prize for which is an avatar! Although not stated, it is assumed this will be the UD TCG - Arcade Shoyru avatar previously available as a rare item code from Upper Deck convention exclusive promotional cards.

Note: This sweepstakes is only available to residents of Canada and most of the USA (see the terms for details). You may still sign up for the newsletter if you don't qualify, but cannot win the avatar. The sweepstakes is only open until March 14th.
