Altador Cup News and Updates

New Stamp Added to Altador Cup Prize Shop

In a surprise move by TNT, a new album item has been silently added to the Altador Cup XIX prize shop around 10:45am NST today.

The prize is worth 2,800 points.

There does not appear to be any other additions or changes to the prize shop at the time of publishing.

It's a bit of an unfortunate change for players who may have already spent some of their points. TNT has not yet made any comments about the change, or if there's any recourse for players in such a position.

The issue with outdated trophy artwork has not yet been corrected.

Altador Cup Prize Shop Live!

UPDATE, ~1PM NST: The glitched results have been removed, and this year's genuine results have been revealed! Kreludor have won this year's Altador Cup!

In addition, the prize shop is now live and trophies are being awarded to all users. However, the trophy images appear to be direct copies of last year's trophies, and so are not updated based on this year's team rankings. Additionally, Dacardia seems to not have any trophies at all, left instead with broken images.

Finally, the team rankings displayed in the prize shop remain incorrect, showing team rankings from two years ago. (There are no issues with individual spendable points.)

Today, the Altador Cup results have been posted... but not the results anyone was expecting. TNT seem to have accidentally reposted last year's results (including no Team Dacardia) in full.

Additionally, the prize shop appears to now be showing your team's position from 2022. In the prize shop, a Dyeworks Hue Brew Potion has been added to the shop (as is usually available). Some users are reporting being able to claim this potion, while others receive an error when trying to do so. Some users are also being awarded a new Altador Cup trophy, but this is a clone of the 2023 trophy including the team's place that year. Again, this part of the glitch isn't impacting everyone, but Team Dacardia do not have a 2023 trophy to draw from, so this trophy is broken for them.

Finally, a handful of users report that the prize shop is now fully open for them, and are able to spend their points freely. At this stage, it is uncertain why some users are glitched in some ways and not others.

What's New at Jellyneo: September 2024

We're continuing our monthly tradition: an update on all things new and refreshed last month at Jellyneo!

Here's a rundown of what's new here from the past month.

New Site Layout!
To celebrate our 20th birthday on August 22nd, we released a project we have been working on for quite some time: a new main site layout! This layout matches what we have used on all of our other departments, such as the Item Database, for many years.

We are currently having a short beta testing period before rolling out widely, so stay tuned to our homepage for updates! If you have any feedback, do not hesitate to let us know! We read everything we receive, and are fixing bugs and making adjustments every day. Look forward to a site theme switcher very soon!

Special Categories 2.0
We continued our birthday celebrations with a big update to the Item Database: Special Categories 2.0!

We have completely redesigned and updated our "Special Categories" system to be more robust, shedding previous limitations with the ability to categorize an item in any way we wish.

We've expanded the list of our Special Categories from 212 to 324 options, with even more planned to be added and catalogued in the coming months.

The "Categories" section on an individual item's page has been redesigned to show the full rundown of where the item can be found, where it can be used at, any effects it may have, and any other thematic groupings.

You can search by Special Category right over in our search bar—look for the In Special Category options!

The Void Within Coverage

The Void Within has continued to develop over the last month, and we've covered it breathlessly!

August saw the start of the Clash Over Kiko Lake. Check out our guides for the most accurate current mechanics and prizes:

Our prize shop guide is up-to-date with a battery of new prizes released last week:

We also saw the first release of Dr. Landelbrot's Voidworks. This activity will allegedly become a daily one once Chapter 5 starts next Monday, September 9.

Having trouble keeping track of all the plot activities? Check out our personal checklist tool, updated daily:

You can continue to keep up with news of every development by checking our plot hub homepage daily:

Plot Points Fortune Cookie Guide
In case you missed it, last month TNT released a new Void Within Plot Points Fortune Cookie. The cookie respects the same daily/weekly point limits per activity, but helps you get there two (or three, if you're lucky) times as fast.

Altador Cup Coverage
The Altador Cup spanned the entire month of August, with the top bracket wrapping up this weekend, while middle and bottom brackets experienced a bizarre and unexpected double-practice day.

The TNT Staff Tournament also completed and has already had its prize shop opened! Check out our coverage to see how each staffer did and what's available for your points:

Finally, we hosted our very own Staff Tourney for the first time in five years! Congratulations to Ducky, Rylon, and Perry for their podium placements, and to the five lucky random winners of a SDCC prize code for submitting guesses in all ten rounds!

New Convention Recaps
We published three new convention recaps in August.

New Premium Scratchcard Prizes
TNT updated prizes for the weekly Premium scratchcards with a mix of new and rereleased items. Check out our guide for all the latest details:

  • AMA Recaps: Added recap of August 2024's AMA with TNT.
  • Dyeworks Guide: Updated with the August releases.

Finally, we are always adding new entries to our databases. You can keep up with them at any time!

If you discovered something delightful or useful above, make our day month by letting us know in the comments. Happy August!
UPDATE, AUGUST 31ST: It seems that middle and bottom bracket teams indeed have a second practice day today, while the top bracket teams (except Tyrannia, who is on bye day) play their last set of finals matches.

Although TNT announced earlier this week that play would continue through Saturday 8/31, today seems to be a practice day for all twelve Altador Cup teams in the middle and bottom brackets. Top bracket teams have games as usual, except for Maraqua, who have a bye day.

One bye day for each middle & bottom bracket team during the finals would be considered "fair" for all players, as the inclusion of a 7th team in the top bracket of the finals has forced each of them to take one bye day. We are not sure what will happen for middle & bottom bracket teams tomorrow as the top bracket play presumably continues with its last round of matches (except for Tyrannia, who have not had a bye day yet), but hopefully it's something fair for all players!

The Altador Cup's Staff Tournament Prize Shop is open and your points are ready for redeeming.

What are you excited to see re-released here? What will you be redeeming your points for? Let us know in the comments!

Altador Cup End Date Announced; TNT Staff Tournament Ends

TNT announced on the New Features page that the Altador Cup will be ending this Saturday, August 31st.

Note that this is a silent update from what was originally posted last night, which implied the end date would be today. Help out your fellow teammates by spreading the word about this change!

The original version of the news post

With that said...TNT has been inconsistent with their communication of Altador Cup dates this year. The Official Rules page has always stated play through 8/31, but had an inaccurate practice day schedule. The Portal Announcement has always stated play through 8/28, even now. So, continue to plan with caution; if you want to reach a certain rank this year, we recommend doing so as soon as you are able.

With the end of the Altador Cup, the final round of the TNT Staff Tournament has also finished and scores announced! This round's Star Player was Jewel. Those who guessed that were awarded this action figure:

We are still missing round 4 scores from three TNTers: Celeste, Goldfish in a Bowl, and Luna! If you selected any of these players, please comment below what score they received or send us a contact form! We now have all TNT scores! Thank you!

The official announcement of placings for the main Altador Cup, along with the opening of both prize shops, should be coming soon after the end of play. The Portal announcement says September 3rd, but, as mentioned above, consider this only a tentative date.
