2024 Altador Cup Tournament

Signups for the Altador Cup are now open! You can now pick your favourite team to represent.

A new year means a new sign up prize for those who have participated in the maximum number of previous Cups:



Note that for the first ~2 hours of the day, the page was mistakenly awarding the prize for 1 year less than you have participated in. This has now been fixed, and many of those affected report that the correct item later appeared in their inventory automatically; if you still don't have the correct item, we recommend opening a ticket.

Additionally, the Not My Problem... achievement for The Void Within is unlockable for +10 plot points by signing up for a team.


The rules page indicates that sign-ups will remain open through the end of Tuesday, July 30th. The Cup presumably will begin this year on Wednesday, July 31st, with play scheduled to last through Saturday, August 31st. The tournament format seems to be unchanged, despite the addition of a 19th team.

Update, 10:45 AM NST: An Altador Cup re-release mystery capsule is now available in the NC Mall. This capsule includes items from previous AC Neocash events from over the years.

UPDATE, July 10th: At some point today, TNT added one more bug fix to the list. TNT has fixed the bug that prevents Neomails from showing you your previous message being replied to. We've confirmed that this appears to be a fix going forward, and is not retroactive:

Neomail Replies - This feature broke around the time that Jumpstart took over Neopets. Someone replies to your Neomail, you will be able to see what you originally wrote to them in the response!

Happy Tuesday! TNT has stealthily published a few updates under the release notes today. We wanted to highlight a few of the most notable.

• Permanent Battledome NP Limit Increase: You may have noticed the Battledome's daily Neopoint limit has increased to 50,000 up from the previous 1,500 during the plot. The release notes announce that this is a permanent change, even after the plot is over!
• Dacardia Joins; Everyone Returns: The release notes confirm that Dacardia will be joining as 19th team in the Altador Cup this year, meaning no teams will need to sit out for them to participate. (The notes do not say if this will require a change in the tournament format that has been used for the last several years.)
• Slushie Slinger Colour Bug Fix: Slushie Slinger will have a bug fix to an issue with inconsistent/incorrect slushie colours requested by customers.
• Faster Image Loading: TNT has implemented some changes to how images are served to reduce some slowness in loading them. (We can personally confirm the success of these changes while processing wearable assets over at our Wardrobe!)
• Void Essence Point Corrections: An issue where some users were not properly awarded plot points after collecting void essences has been resolved, and has promised to mass-correct any players already affected.

The release notes also recap many of the newer developments in The Void Within plot, as well as few more miscellaneous minor bug fixes.

Today the Pre-Tournament Press has begun for the Altador Cup! Over the coming days, new teams will show up on the page with blurbs detailing their activities in the off season. Team Dacardia is one of the first to be featured, confirming that the team slated for last year will be returning:


Additionally, from the count on the page it appears that no team will be sitting out this year, which means that the format of the Cup itself is likely to have been tweaked to fit 19 teams playing.

The page also contains a countdown to sign ups, revealing that they will begin on Tuesday, July 16th. The FAQ for the Cup has revealed that the actual start of live play in the Cup will be Wednesday, July 31st, meaning that the majority of the Cup will run through August.

Earlier this week, TNT announced in the New Features that the Altador Cup Prize Shops "will be closing soon (7/7)". We're not sure whether that means midnight tonight, sometime tomorrow, or midnight tomorrow, so we recommend spending up your points ASAP today.

UPDATE, SUNDAY JULY 7TH: The prize shops still appear open this morning. However, we are still unsure if they will close later today, at midnight, or sometime tomorrow, so we still recommend urgency!


TNT have still yet to announce a firm date for this year's Altador Cup. In the June AMA, Dom said that the press tour would be in "early July" with signups shortly after, so it is likely the traditional Pre-Tournament Press will follow the prize shops retiring rather than the Cup itself.

Dom shared that the reason for the delay this year was due to focusing on the launch of The Void Within plot. He also shared that a new team will be competing, the AC games will feature some bug fixes from previous years, and that daily caps on AC game score submissions will be rebalanced to be "less grindy."
