UPDATE, 12 PM NST: It appears TNT have modified the daily caps to be lower than last year's part way through the day. The new daily maximums are:

• Yooyuball: Max 29 games per day (previously 35)
• Slushie Slinger: Max 53 games per day (previously 65)
• Make Some Noise: Max 242 games per day (previously 301)
• Shootout Showdown: Max 242 games per day (previously 301)

The Altador Cup and Staff Tournament have begun!

The changes to make the AC "less grindy" (Dom's words from the June AMA) are now known: each qualifying game submission is now worth more points and rank thresholds have been lowered. This means you should be able to rank up much faster than in previous years.

New Game Point Values
The new game point values are:

• Yooyuball: Each win is worth 14 points (in previous years, only 12). Draws and losses are both worth 6 rank points (in previous years, only 4 and 1 respectively) but you must score at least one goal or else they are worth zero rank points.
• Slushie Slinger: Each qualifying score is worth 10 points (in previous years, only 6)
• Make Some Noise: Each qualifying score is worth 3 points (in previous years, only 1)
• Shootout Showdown: Each qualifying score is worth 3 points (in previous years, only 1)

New Rank Thresholds
The new rank thresholds are approximately 75% of previous years'. Check out our Rank Calculator page for the full detail:


Same Max Games Per Day
The maximum number of games you can play per day for earning rank points are unchanged. As a reminder, these are:

• Yooyuball: Max 35 games per day
• Slushie Slinger: Max 65 games per day
• Make Some Noise: Max 301 games per day
• Shootout Showdown: Max 301 games per day

Reduced Max Games Per Day
Although max games were unchanged at the start of the day, TNT lowered them at some point later in the day. The new daily maximums are:

• Yooyuball: Max 29 games per day (previously 35)
• Slushie Slinger: Max 53 games per day (previously 65)
• Make Some Noise: Max 242 games per day (previously 301)
• Shootout Showdown: Max 242 games per day (previously 301)

Extra Bye Days
Finally, to accommodate the addition of a 19th team, each day one team has a "bye day" where they are not playing anyone and cannot earn rank points. This is in addition to the regular practice days where everyone is off. Today's bye day is for Krawk Island! Unfortunately, the bye day schedule is not known.

The countdown on the page shows that you have until the end of Monday, August 5 at 11:59 PM NST to make your selections for the first round.

TNT have announced the date for the next live event and AMA with Dom, the Neopets CEO. This will be held at 5pm NST on the 1st of August. It's expected to be watchable live on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and probably Twitch. Note that there was no July AMA, likely due to the timing of SDCC 2024 at the end of July. It is unknown if there will be a second August AMA towards the end of the month!


This AMA has been dubbed "The Altador Cup Edition," and will feature discussion of the Altador Cup (set to launch the same day) with TNT Fallie and TNT Sunpotato. TNT Luna will return as host.

Like the June AMA, the announcement this time does not mention an exclusive item code.

Rather than a StrawPoll, TNT is gathering questions on the Neoboards. Make sure to follow the format noted by Luna to make sure your question gets consideration!

It's back! After a five year hiatus, we're bringing back JN's Altador Cup Staff Tournament, and this year's tournament is a little... grey!

Our Twelfth Annual Altador Cup Staff Tournament is now open for guessing! The JN staff are competing against each other in Yooyuball to see who is the best player!

You can participate in our tournament by guessing who you think the top 3 players will be, and for kicks, the last place player! You have until August 2nd at 11:59pm NST to get your top 3 guesses in.

And on August 1st, our tournament begins with daily round guessing. Come back every two days to guess who will win each of the 10 rounds in the tourney.
