Perhaps it came as no shock that Altador finished last season in 16th but Captain Foltaggio has called for a change in philosophy. He wants the team to ask more pressing questions. Like, what can they improve on? What is a trophy? And why are we all here in the grand scheme of life? His gamble is that this will give his teammates a fresh and open-minded outlook on the competition this year... rather than confuse everyone.

A mid table finish for Brightvale last year has given them a whole new positive outlook. Captain Montecito has called on fans to not rest on their laurels and show the team full support this year. "That will be the telling factor!" He said. Bright-eyed and full of energy, the Brightvale team has trained harder than ever!

After falling five places short of their hopeful podium finish, storm-clouds have appeared over the Darigan's Citadel... but that's nothing unusual. In fact, most of the team feel quite cheery about another top ten finish and maybe that coveted recognition that they've been shooting for all these years.

Foul play allegations, players up in arms, Faerieland has had its share of drama these last few years and it appears to have finally dealt its blow. Last year they finished at the bottom of the table and Faerie fans everywhere have felt it. Still, there's reason for hope. The team have been heard chanting "The Magic of the Cup!" It's a call to all supporters. Anything could happen this time... and anything would be better.

There were heartrending cries from Haunted Woods fans last year that drowned out the Haunted House. Another fifteenth place finish last season has everyone wondering if the team's got skeletons in their closet... and not the fun, spooky kind. What else could explain such a dent in their ambitions? The team announced that they were visited in their dreams by the ghosts of all the trophies they've missed out on and woke up intent on changing that this season.

Their below mid table finish last season led to a bit of a scuffle in locker room. Ditan Colb, was once again, accused of defending lazily by his defensive companion Meelah Kitah. Luckily, when she threw a pile of Yooyuballs at him he let them all through. Captain "Poke" cellars was quick to defuse the situation and has told fans, "It's time to hop on the glass-bottom boat!" Let's hope that boat doesn't sink.

The flag of the Krawk Island team has flown on the mast of almost every ship in the Armada after their celebrated move up the table last year. Fifth was a superb result for Garven Hale and his team but they're not done yet. To improve their chances even further, they've studied their performance graphs and pie charts. Apparently, it's a highly pie-rated team this year!

The slip down the table in previous years must seem like a distant memory since they pulled off a miraculous 4th place in AC IV with a starlit performance. Now that those fears are put to rest, they're one step away from that coveted podium finish. It has given everyone a slight lift. And in zero gravity, a slight lift is all you need!

A Sinking Feeling?

Oceans of joyful tears were shed by happy fans after the team managed third spot on the podium. Maraqua's Captain, Elon Hughlis, still insists he wasn't selfish enough and that's why they didn't win. However, Barit Jowes has become concerned that his outlook might reveal "a few cracks in the aquarium so to speak." That said, they remain among the favourites this year!

With their record of always finishing 11th or higher still intact, Meridell are certainly a team to watch. 6th place last season and known to practice ore diligently than almost any other team, Meridell returns with high hopes. That said, there's a lingering resentment building from within the team. Some players claim they're being worked too hard and might be exhausted come match day. Captain Windelle has insisted he will give them enough rest but, as always, it will be decided in the arena.

Despite their poor performance last year, Moltara is feeling hot. A second to last finish had the team deep in the dumps but they bounced back a few weeks afterwards and burned up the training field. Despite, many logical Neopets claiming it's just really warm down there, most Moltarans believe they're sweating because of "cup fever"!

... and often stuck under the Limbo Pole, too! Mystery Island's mid table finish in AC XIV last year has led to much soul searching and Team Captain Volgoth has looked for answers. Upon visiting Mystery Island's Mystic he was given a prophetic prediction, "If Mystery Island should compete in the Altador Cup this year, a great team will be victorious!" As usual, so much is left in uncertainty in their aptly named team.

Roo Island's 9th place finish last season ahs got the team wondering why they've struggled so much in the past. That said, they have taken time to celebrate their upswing and the fans gave them a warm welcome home. Especially, team Captain and fan favourite Lilo Blumario who has once again turned down offers from other teams. He said, "This Blumaroo is right where he belongs... and even if we miss out on the podium, a united team is worth all the trophies in Neopia."

It was perhaps no surprise that Shenkuu finished 12th last year. The rumored arguments between Larcy Phy and Mirsha Grelinek were confirmed. Apparently, it was over an alleged attempt by Larcy to force is way onto a different team. He has denied accusations that he let a few forwards by too easily but Mirsha is not convinced. She's called on him to put his antenna down and focus on his Yooyuball because he's not going anywhere. This is the season for him to prove himself so could we see a new reinvigorated team this year?

The taste of victory has sent the team soaring and they may be feeling the effects of the altitude. Celebrations were held at a ski resort where Captain Prytariel ahs warned the team that they're on a slippery slope... literally. Especially, the rising superstar Osielle Lidel who has repeatedly claimed he's "all a-Buzz with excitement." However, the rest of the team was quick to deny that there's anything humorous in that statement.

The "Foresaken Five" were forced to face their second worst performance in the Altador Cup, finishing 13th in the standings. They feel like they've never truly replaced their tenacious forward Evrem Guilako aka the "Tiny Giant". However, rumors have begun to circulate that he may make an incredible return to his home team in the coming years but nothing has been confirmed.

Making Space in the Trophy Cabinet

The team looked heartbroken as they walked off their second place spot last year. Was it their partying in last year's off-season or just complacency? Only the team knows for sure. However, the fans remain fully supportive of the team and greeted them with wild applause. Also, during the off-season, supporters claim to have built the only trophy cabinet visible from space...because it's in it. It's certainly difficult to not see them as contenders.
