Games At Last!!

It's a big day for Neopia! For the second time in a row, a site update has been released by TNT on the promised day: Flash games!

Neopets has installed Flash emulator Ruffle on its own servers so that users who do not have Ruffle on their own browsers can still use it to play the classic Flash games.

To do so, head to the beta gamesroom, where you'll find a new banner that will take you to the classic gamesroom:

We're seeing a few bugs being reported still—things like error messages or buttons not always working on all browsers. But we're excited to see these games return, and we're hopeful these issues will be ironed out quickly!

Yay! I believed TNT would get it done. Otherwise it would have made no sense to buy Neopets and would have made more sense to shut it down along with Jumpstart and all the other Jumpstart games.

@veinslicer: Same for me. Ruffle struggles with score sending sometimes--I believe due to the HTTPS upgrade and/or Stackpath. Hopefully this will be something that gets ironed out quickly, but in the meantime it may be a good idea to refresh a separate page before sending score, much like with AC games.

helpkittens from the HC has helpful advice for rescuing your scores from that dratted stackpath score-eating app. Have another tab open, perhaps something safe like quickstock, and before you send in your score, refresh the quickstock page. That precaution also saves Negg Puzzle scores.

Yeah, I'm so rusty, it's gonna be weeks before I get a reasonable score. But at least it's another way to waste time, right?

I can con confirm that the Ruffle included in the games will run on Vivaldi, though the "Restart Game" button after submitting a score doesn't seem to work.

Like are their bugs yes, are their issues sending scores yes. That all being said we've been given 2 dates for site related updates so far and both have became true on the date given more than JS did in the last few years. Even though they have just begun i am more hopeful for the site than i have been in a very long time.

Hmm, I've tried playing the new/old games and am having issues on Waterfox with NoScript installed. I've tried allowing all javascript but it still won't load the games for me.

Any thoughts?

For the people who cant send scores!!! Ruffle is a bit buggy, before sending a score load any other neopets page (like your inventory) and then send. This should fix THAT problem.

Yeah, score sending not going to thru is most likely StackPath issue. So before sending score, refresh another page first to be done with it before sending score.

Volcano Run's mapping is all wrong, the mines in Doubloon Disaster don't explode on collision with each other... Am I just unlucky that the first two games I played have bugs that make the games pretty unplayable, or are all the games a bit janky?

tbh i didn't believe they would actually change stuff this quickly. even with some bugs, i want to stay optimistic that they truly want to make the site better. great news to wake up to. i'm sure they'll squash the bugs soon too

Chose Wingoball because it was 2X NP but the ball never rolls. So moved on to Pakiko which didn't load at all and then the same issue with Spinacles. Not complaining. Games are back

Has anybody else noticed the "restart game" button on the send score dialog box not working? I'm noticing that on Turmac Roll, but the rest of the game's working, which is pretty danged good.

This is so freaking incredible. I'm so glad I got the avatars for high score tables with the lengthy workarounds, since fewer people were playing, but man oh man having games back gives me so much joy!!!
