I recommend refreshing either faerieland or faerie city as the shards change position over the maps with every refresh.

@purplebin: Sanity check... are you checking both Faerieland maps? You need to check both the main Faerieland map (with the Healing Springs) and Faerie City (with the shops/personality quiz/etc).

I clicked around a while and I found 4 but the 5th one for today is most elusive, so I gave up for awhile. I thought I had found all 5 but my count does not show it, just 4

I even tried the Inspect Element thingie but it doesn't show any more to be found.

At least it is something to do! And we get prizes!

I've no clue if it makes any difference at all but I returned to the event page after finding each shard, just because I wanted to minimize glitches.

As far as I know doing that may have caused ALL the shards to disappear on me but that was my decision. lol

I got all 5 of my shards.

@biediep: There have been a lot of event features over the years that I wish had turned into regular site features. Not all of them would have made sense (e.g. digging out a pyramid every day...) but some stuff like Crewdoku and Fiendish Formations would have made nice little mini-games.

I saw this a few hours ago, but I was a bit busy and misunderstood the post. Assumed it was for the Faerie's Hope app. And, as it turns out, there is no day 1.5 for this event. *despair*

It really sucks that there's, once again, no 1.5 day starting period (even if it doesn't effect me). When will they learn that not every player lives in the United States? Had I not done the daily feeding on my side account when I did (just jellies and omelettes from my main, relax) I totally would have missed the button for this event. And since Daylight Savings is still a thing I now start playing after midnight instead of just before..

TNT, if you want to do better, start by doing things better! Announce a thing and start it the day after. Don't start something on a random day and hope everyone gets the memo! >: |

American's get screwed also. I do mine in the early morning and they generally don't have new games available for several hours after changeover so if you do your dailies early you miss it. If you aren't going to give 1.5 days at least give us the full 24 hours

I'm glad I'm not affected this time, but only because I didn't trust them on this (rightly so).
Got their mail late at night, right before heading to bed. Even though my partner thought I'm crazy, I went back to the office to switch on the PC for this. Glad I did, disappointed that I had to.

Okay, so yay for some kind of an event - will this be shard only, or will there be some kind of plot? Only time will tell! But chiming in with others to say boo that we didn't get 1.5 days. So disappointing that I did dailies early enough that it was before the event's release. Such a strict counting of the first day, especially when other events take account of that and give us the 1.5, is a bummer.

I was staying late working on my computer while housesitting for my folks and at 11:53 pm nst I happened to decide to check JN just in case something interesting happened on neo for a change and blammo. I just barely managed to find them all before midnight. I really think for events like these that A) are sudden and have great rewards it would be worth it for TNT to warn people like a week in advance there's a new event cropping up.

I had to refresh for the 5th shard to show up in Faerie City. Found three on Faerieland map and the other two on Faerie City map. The shards are tiny but they do sparkle so not terribly difficult to see.

Looking forward to spending my prize points. Definitely want another Faerie petpet!

Honestly I think they should get rid of the "have to complete task on release day" requirement for most events, if not all of them. All it does is punish those who either forget to do the daily task required of them or put an unnecessary time limit on a task (and when it's something like a tough GMC score, you're being double punished for not having the free time).

There is NO reason that, if you can still collect yesterday's crystals, that you only get 1 point from them instead of 5. Why? What about the crystals that they need to be delivered on day of release? Do they lose their power? If so, then why are you giving any points for the old crystals? Just give the full points, the "punishment" for a person beginning late should just be having to spend extra time finding all the crystals to catch up.

Another example was the recent Neopies. I missed one release day. I forgot. BUT I still voted in EVERY category. Because, even though if you miss the release day you don't get the final prize, they still give you 72 HOURS (3 DAYS) to vote for a category! Sure, we get the prize for voting, but if I voted for every category just like a person who voted on every day of release, which should be the BARE MINIMUM requirement, why was I locked out of the final prize? What does it matter if I voted on day of release, the 2nd day, or the last day? The votes aren't tallied up until the voting time is over, my vote still counted!

I get the idea on paper, it awards those who does their diligence and completes the tasks every day. But, as I went over with the above examples, not only doesn't it make sense, why should anyone care about the time someone else completes the task? If someone wants to spend extra time on a task or forgets, that's their business, I only care about doing mine. I don't mind if we both get the same final prize even though they spent a few extra days on one task and/or had to catch-up. Or, at the very least, give some wiggle room

Guess I should talk about the event? Well, interesting idea, that there is some part of Faerieland still in the air and from it they're going to essentially "grow" a new sky Faerieland. I actually had this thought myself, though I don't remember if I ever put it into one of my NT articles or not.

Neat we get to see the prizes early! And also neat they have old plot prizes, retired items, or just hard to get items in there. Though, gotta say I'm not sure how I feel about them having Hidden Tower items in the shop. Speaking of which, Varia's Bomb serves as an interesting rival to Ghostkerbomb, both having their pros and cons. I like it, though still debating should I get one with my points or just buy it off someone.

I agree with your sentiments however. Just get rid of that day-of-release bologna. It only gives scalpers more to brag about and sell for outrageous prizes. The only place it makes sense to have such a thing is at the Advent Calendar (and even then...).

@white_rabbit1142: I'm pretty sure the event lasts one week, so you can find five new crystals each day for seven days. This means you'll get a max total of 350 points, so not enough to get everything in the prize shop.

pikachu315111, I agree that in most cases (such as the examples you gave) having a special prize for doing stuff on 'day of release' is not helpful. It doesn't even encourage more participation (which I guess is the intended point of it).

In this case, where there is a limit on the number of shards you can collect anyway, I don't see the point of giving out 5 times the number of points for collecting them on the 'correct' day (especially when the first 'day' was only partial). I think it's a disproportionate penalty.

The oddest thing happened today. I clicked the first shard (New Faerieland), got the pop-up box, but the shard still seemed to be there. I clicked again, no pup-up box, and the shard vanished. Clicked 3 more (1 in Faerie City), all normally. Refreshed both maps several times and searched, got nothing. Checked my count, and had all 5 registered. Looks like 2 shards were in the same place at the same angle, when the map was first loaded. What are the odds?

@breezydreams: Not as odd as you might think. My old Chromebook had trouble loading in the pages, getting the shards to come in first. Which meant they were all stacked on top of one another. Super easy searching ^ -^
