As revealed earlier today in the news, Treasure Maps are coming to the NC Mall! They have just unveiled the FAQ:

What's a Treasure Map?
The Treasure Map is a new type of NC item that allows you to hunt for new NC items! To get started on your search all you'll need to do is look around the NC Mall for a map. Keep your eye out, though; they seem to be appearing in random shops. Once you find a map you may reveal it for an exclusive map-themed item.

Where can I find a map in the NC Mall?
To get started on your search for treasure, ponder around the NC Mall. The maps may be located in random shops so keep your eye out!

Will I be able to gift Treasure Maps?
Yes, the maps function like any other NC item, and will be giftable with an NC Gift Box (one item per NC Gift Box). The map, as with all NC items, cannot be sold or traded.

How many maps will I be able to purchase?
You may purchase as many maps as you can find in the NC Mall. ;)

How do I hunt for NC items with the Treasure Map?
You can hunt for your NC item through your inventory. To do so, simply click on your map and select "Hunt for Buried Treasure" from the drop-down menu.

Can I open and use a Treasure Map on my side accounts?
Yes, you may open and use maps on your side account(s).

The maps are now available. The prizes are shown below.

If you can help us out with modeling, please head to our Modeling Section and submit a pet for modeling and earn yourself a new trophy for your cabinet!

Looks like a brand new fortune cookie has arrived at the Mall: The NC Upcycle Fortune Cookie! And it looks like you might be in luck if you're a generous Neopian!

What is the Upcycle Fortune Cookie?
Once open, this Fortune Cookie gives you access to donate a select number of NC items. For recycling your NC items, you will receive a reward ranging from NC, NC items or NP items. Each cookie will last for 4 Neopian days after opening.

What type of items will I be able to donate?
You will be able to donate any NC item.

Will I be able to gift the Upcycle Fortune Cookie?
Yes, the Upcycle Fortune Cookie functions like any other NC item and will be giftable with a NC Gift Box (one item per NC Gift Box). Upcycle Fortune Cookie, as with all NC items, cannot be sold or traded.

Will I be able to open multiple Upcycle Fortune Cookies at once?
No, you will only be able to open one cookie at a time until time has expired on the previous cookie.

What type of rewards will I be receiving for my donations?
For being a Generous Neopian, you may receive NC, NC items or NP items. It really depends on the Money Tree's mood.

If I don't donate items on a day, will that day carry over?
No, unfortunately if you do not donate items on a day that the cookie is active, you forfeit your donations for that day.

I accidentally donated an item, will I be able to get it back?
Please be very careful when selecting items to donate. Unfortunately once you confirm your donation, it cannot be returned to you.

How will I know when my Upcycle Fortune Cookie expires?
As is true for all Fortune Cookies, a countdown clock indicating the amount of time left will be shown in a special banner at the top of any relevant pages -- in this case, the Money Tree page.

Do I have to donate the exact amount of items listed when opening the cookie?
Yes. In order to receive your donation prize you must donate the number of NC items mentioned.

Can I still access the Money Tree while using my Upcycle Fortune Cookie?
Yes. You will still have access to the Money Tree while having an Upcycle Fortune Cookie active.

Can I open and use the Upcycle Fortune Cookie on my side account(s)?
Yes, you may open and use the Upcycle Fortune Cookie on your side account(s).

By visiting the Faerie Quests page, you can claim one free faerie quest per day. Like regular faerie quests, the quest you receive is random. While you're there, you will also receive a free item for each day that you visit. In past years, an exclusive bonus prize has been awarded for visiting each day, but completion of the quests was not necessary. We're not sure if there will be another bonus prize this year, but it's probably better to visit each day just in case! To learn more about the Faerie Quest Event, visit our guide!

Did you receive an item we don't have on our list yet? Submit a bug report or let us know in the comments below!

Wardrobe Wars - Round Two!

We're back for another round! In case you weren't around last month, we're taking submissions of outfits to be featured on the Wardrobe Hub!

What do I need to do?

Register for a jnAccount on our main site, and then register for an account on our forums
Head on over to our Wardrobe App, and start customising your pet!
When finished, save the outfit, using the appropriately-named "Save Outfit" button and copy the link for the next step. (And rename your outfit to match the theme.)
Visit the Wardrobe Wars board and fill out the short entry form.

Submissions will be open for the next seven (7) days, after which the entries will be reviewed, and those selected will be uploaded to our carousel on or around the 10th! There isn't a limit to the number of entries you can submit, but please be aware we'd love to feature outfits from lots of you rather than just one person!

We've also got a brand new theme, so make sure to check it out on the forums!

Any questions can be answered here or on the forums. Just send a private message to Rylon or myself.

This is also a great chance to help model items to be used in Wardrobe! If you've got something tucked away in your closet that we don't have available in Wardrobe, model it so everyone can use it! If you happen to come across an item that should be in Wardrobe but doesn't appear, please submit a bug report so we can look into it.

Modeling & Wearables: April Recap

We've had five pets days through April, which kick off the month's modeling and wearable roundup!

Shoyru: Warrior / Blue Summer | Krawk: Foreman / Extravagant
Lutari: Rogue / Baker | Kougra: Bold / Evening | Cybunny: Nobleman / Shenkuu

Only a few non-event neopoint items have been released, though the Plumpy wearable has yet to be activated.

Neopoint items have been released through site events, however! We've had the "conclusion" to the Obelisk War, as well as the annual Festival of Neggs!

Speaking of neggs, the festival also housed two NC events: Honest Pete's Negg Punching and Bloomin' Neggs.

Mall games featured heavily, with the removal of Blumaroll, and release of a new blueprint in Secret Meepit 'Stache.

Lots of Key Quest tokens were also released, along with a slightly late-to-the-party gelert!

Several superpacks and capsules and cookies (oh my!) found their way into the mall:

At long last, the prizes awarded when redeeming a NC or Nickelodeon Game Card have changed!

Aaaand finally, we've had several collectibles through the month, including the delightful premium bow!

As always, we're still seeking models for a good chunk of the above items. So if you're able to help out, head on over to our modeling department to submit your pets, and you can earn trophies for your jnAccount at the same time!

Good news, Wardrobe fans! We're now taking submissions of outfits to be featured on the Wardrobe Hub! Our hub seems stuck in the cold, and while the outside world might agree, spring is in full bloom in Neopia!

What do I need to do?

War Bosses Defeated?

It seems like Greed has been defeated permanently? After being defeated, Greed did not respawn like other challengers have. Is this yet another glitch, or is the war over? We know that Envy has been defeated several times now, so this may just be temporary.

Update: It appears that Envy has also been defeated now. Again, the boss was not beaten by the community (Brought down to 0 HP by the community) like TNT said was the requirement so we are unsure if this is a glitch or if it was actually defeated. Especially since Envy was previously defeated several times.

Update 2: It appears that Wrath has also been defeated.

Update 3: Pride has been taken down!

Update 4: ALL BOSSES HAVE BEEN DEFEATED!

Surprise Attack!

A surprise attack has been summoned at the Mysterious Obelisk. They appear in the form of Greed for The Thieves Guild, Envy for the Order of the Red Erisim, Pride for The Sway, Wrath for the Brutes, Apathy for the Seekers and Death for the Awakened . They appear to be a group boss, their HP appear to be slowly decreasing.

We are currently gathering and posting challenger information as we go on our Challenger Page. More info on this wave can be found here.

Note: A multitude of reports of how this round's achievements were completed have been suggested; in many cases, users apparently are receiving Tis Just A Scratchin completely different situations from one another. SMASH appears to be related to cumulative damage. We are currently collecting data on the Neoboards and via staff testing.

UPDATE 1: Two of the opponents have been defeated, with hufflepuff beating Envy and thetricky beating Wrath. This removed them from the Battledome.

UPDATE 2: Wrath and Envy have been returned to the Battledome and now have similar healing abilities as the other challengers to prevent another lockout - fight (and lose) away!

We're currently collecting prize information from the Faction Challenges, so please submit a bug report with the prize you receive, as well as listing the type of challenge you had to complete! Regular prizes awarded from the opponents come directly from the Ugga Dome prize set, so we don't need to know about those!

A sixth trailer has been posted at the Mysterious Dig Site, with this one showing the Awakened, a group of Zombie and Ghost Neopets.

Do the Awakened really want the obelisk, or are they just out for brains?

A fifth video has been posted at the Mysterious Dig Site. This one introduces the Seekers, an elite group of scholars eager to get their hands (and paws) on some ancient wisdom.

With five different forces struggling for power, this is shaping up to be a very interesting incident indeed. Stay tuned for any further developments, and in the meantime, feel free to speculate away in the comments!

The fourth trailer has been released at the Mysterious Dig Site. This time, Neopias strongest warriors have gotten together to form the Brute Squad. They will fight whoever stands in their way in order to harness the power of the Obelisk.

The trailer shows a lot of battling over the obelisks, I think it's safe to say we can expect battling soon!

A third trailer has been posted depicting yet another new new faction, The Order of the Red Erisim. Head over to the Mysterious Dig Site to view the trailer.

The Order appears to be a somewhat neutral faction of magicians. They believe no one else has the power to control the obelisk.

This is the third faction to be released. According to teaser images, there should be one more. Will it be Darigan or will it be another new faction?

The Sway appear to be a new evil group in Neopia. Very enigmatic and very evil. The trailer shows their hearing about the Obelisk and their plan to go claim it for themselves.

This is the second faction to be introduced. Will there be more? Who will they be? Perhaps we will be able to join one of the factions. We will keep you posted the instant we know more.

Looks like new Battledome challengers are now confirmed to be in the pipeline for this Tyrannia event! A user on the Neoboards has reported that during a glitchy Battledome fight, a mysterious opponent named "Thief 1" appeared as the challenger. See the screenshot below.

Head on over to the Mysterious Dig Site to be greeted with a shiny new button ... revealing a video trailer to watch!

The first thing you'll probably notice is that the ever-lovable Kanrik is involved, as the trailer is surrounding the Thieves Guild, and their attempt to own/secure/sell the Obelisk before anyone else!

There is also a hint at the potential possibility to join the Thieves Guild (or another faction, if more are revealed) at some point. We'll keep you posted once we know more!

Dig for Buried Relics!

UPDATE: Guides are now up for the Mysterious Dig Site (including prize lists) and NC Scanning for Buried Relics!

Looks like as of midnight we can now dig at the Mysterious Site! You can dig once per fifteen minute increment, :00 - :14, :15 - :29, :30 - :44 and :45 - :59 past the hour, and can collect up to 20 items per day from the digging.

As if this wasn't enough, this is also the start of a brand new NC Mall event, Scanning for Buried Relics! For this, you will need to purchase one of the Tyrannian Scanoscope packs, and each day you can get a new NC item!

What is Scanning for Buried Relics?
Scanning for Buried Relics is an NC Mall event where you can scan the Tyrannian digging site daily to uncover NC item prizes! Visit the NC Mall to purchase your Tyrannian Scanoscopes (sold in packs of 1, 5, and 14). Once you activate your Scanoscopes, visit the Buried Relics page to uncover hidden treasures and help in the digging efforts!

How long can I scan for buried relics?
Tyrannia Scanoscopes will be on sale from February 12 through February 25, 2013. You can participate any time within that period by purchasing Tyrannian Scanoscopes in the NC Mall. The digging site will always be available for you to uncover your hidden items.

How do I purchase Tyrannian Scanoscopes?
Visit the NC Mall to purchase your Tyrannian Scanoscopes in packs of 1, 5, and 14. The number of Tyrannian Scanoscopes in the pack represents the number of relics you can scan to receive an NC item prize. Once you have purchased your Tyrannian Scanoscopes, be sure to activate them in your inventory before visiting the Buried Relics site to claim your prizes.

How do I activate my Tyrannian Scanoscope?
To activate your Tyrannian Scanoscope, visit your inventory, click on your Tyrannian Scanoscope, and select "Activate Tyrannian Scanoscope Pack." After you activate your Tyrannian Scanoscopes visit the Buried Relics dig site to start uncovering treasures!

Can I scan the same dig area more than once?
No, unfortunately you can only scan each area once for every account.

Can I scan on days that have passed?
Yes, prizes can be collected on days that have passed or on that day. Simply click on the day you would like your relic prize and apply your Tyrannian Scanoscope.

Is there a time limit to applying a Scanoscope and collecting my daily prize?
There really isn't a time limit for collecting your daily prizes, but the sooner the better so you can enjoy them! If you activated and have remaining Tyrannian Scanoscopes, you will be able to return to the page to claim your prize as long as the Buried Relics page is still accessible.

I purchased Tyrannian Scanoscopes, why can't I uncover any relics?
Did you activate your Tyrannian Scanoscopes? To activate your Tyrannian Scanoscopes, visit your inventory, click on your Tyrannian Scanoscopes, and select "Activate Tyrannian Scanoscope Pack." After you activate your Tyrannian Scanoscopes, visit the Buried Relics dig site to start uncovering treasure!

Can I give Tyrannian Scanoscopes to another user?
Yes, Tyrannian Scanoscopes are like any other Neocash item and are giftable via an NC Gift Box (one item per NC Gift Box).

Can I participate in the buried relics digging on my side account(s)?
Yes, you can participate in the buried relics digging on your side accounts.

I'm trying to activate additional Tyrannian Scanoscopes, why isn't it working?
Please keep in mind that you will only be able to claim prizes each day once on each account. If you have already activated up to 14 Tyrannian Scanoscopes, you will not be able to activate anymore. An exception to this is if you activate more packs in order to reach 14 Tyrannian Scanoscopes activated. For example, if you activated a 5-pack and then a 1-pack, you will be able to activate a 14-pack in order to reach 14 activations. Unfortunately extra activations cannot be redeemed or returned as you can only collect up to 14 prizes, one each day in this event.

If you were online shortly after midnight NST, (and didn't experience the insane lag I did :/) you will more than likely have received a new Tyrannia-based Random Event, that may have also shaken your screeen!

A new section, Mysterious Site, apparently classed as Tyrannian Outskirts, has appeared in the Tyrannian Plateau.

The Neocash ticket packs we brought you a while back are soon going to be of use! Looks like we'll be digging for something...

The suggestion is that something will start later today. Stay with JN as we get more information!

More Mysterious Plot Clues

Remember those spoilers TNT has been sharing? Here's more indication that a plot with a Battledome component is coming soon. Looks like these "plot packs" that have been flying around the Neoboards will be the NC component (which is pretty standard with events nowadays).

Also looks very Tyrannian to us! Coincidence?

UPDATE: We've found some exciting items that may very well be tied to the NC game in the upcoming plot!

New Features - January 25^th, 2013

Battledome Maintenance - The new Battledome will be undergoing some maintenance today and tomorrow for... reasons. *shifty eyes* During this time, the 'Dome itself may shut down for an hour or two at a time or it may be slow or unresponsive. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Maybe while it's down your Neopet could train instead... for no particular reason. *cough*

It may be wise of you to heed TNT's advice - because from what we've seen, all signs point to a Battledome-related event.

It seems Tyrannia is still stuck in the stone age (bu dum ts). Faerieland has had TWO remodels, plus there was Krawk Island and Roo Island -- not to mention the remodels that happened eons ago. Why no Tyrannian love? D: ~sdspj

Oh, don't worry. We haven't forgotten about Tyrannia. ;) Actually, there have been whispers of strange things happening there. Hopefully we'll know more soon!

This is the second teaser we've gotten from TNT thus far, the first one being this image of Kanrik.

This begs the question - are we looking at possible über Neopian domination? Only time will tell.

TNT has posted an image of Kanrik on their Facebook page along with a short description that reads "We'll just leave this here... ;)". Kanrik is mostly known for his involvement in the Hannah and the Ice Caves Plot. What could this mean? Are TNT hinting at a new upcoming plot? Are we going to see the New Battledome be used in a plot?
