Treasure Keepers Thank You Code
  • posted on December 16, 2011, 1:15 pm NST

As promised, The Neopets Team has emailed an item code to the players of Treasure Keepers.

You can now use the code NTKTHANKS at Grundo's Warehouse for 10,000NP and some item prizes.

Thanks for playing

Treasure Keepers Code Sent, 16 Dec 2011 - 1:12 pm
The emails containing the thank you code have started going out. If you've played Treasure Keepers, the code is being sent to the email address that was on your Facebook account when you clicked the "allow" button the first time. (This is the only contact information we have, so we hope everyone gets the code!) It might take a few hours to get through the entire list, so please be patient if you don't get it right away.

And that does it for NTK. We sound like a broken record, but we really do appreciate everyone who played. We've gotten some really awesome messages from y'all and we're glad so many of you enjoyed it!

Treasure Keepers Closing
  • posted on December 12, 2011, 10:20 pm NST

Neopets: Treasure Keepers Closing , 12 Dec 2011 - 10:00 pm
We're posting to let you all know that, unfortunately, Neopets: Treasure Keepers will be closing on Wednesday, December 14th, 2011. We apologise for the very short notice.

Important information regarding the closure:

- We do not have an exact time for the closure yet but as soon as we know we'll pass along the information to you.

- If you have unspent Facebook Credits, we're assured these are still good on other Facebook applications. You will not lose them.

- If you have any unclaimed achievement codes, the NTK redemption page here on Neopets.com will remain open so you can claim your prizes. Be sure to write down your codes ASAP so you have them before the game comes down.

We will also be sending out a virtual item code to all Neopets: Treasure Keepers players that can be redeemed at Grundo's Warehouse for a set of items and Neopoints. We know it doesn't make up for the closure, but we want to say thank you for all the support you've shown NTK over the past few months. Please look for this code in your inbox in the coming days.

Again, we apologise for the short notice and thanks very much for playing NTK.

- The Neopets & Meteor Games Teams

Update:

Hello, again. We have some updates for you.

- We're told the game will come down around 11 PM NST, roughly 16.5 hours from the time of this post. The date is still the same: December, 14th, 2011. Tomorrow.

- If you have any codes you've yet to redeem, we suggest redeeming them as soon as possible so you don't lose them. To find your codes, click on the blue and yellow award ribbon in the bottom right of the game to load your achievements log. Achievements you have earned are green and have a checkmark, and you can look through these for any codes you may have been awarded. (It will say 'Neopets Code: TK-ACHXXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX' at the bottom of the achievement box if that achievement granted a code.) Then simply click on the code to be taken to the redemption page here on Neopets. If you've already redeemed the code, you'll be notified with an error when trying to redeem it again.

- Also, to clarify, the thank you code we'll be sending out to Treasure Keepers players will be sent to the email address you used when giving permissions to the game on Facebook. We're looking to send that email out on Thursday, after the game closes.

Should anything change or we have any more information to share, we'll post here to update you again.

Thanks.

Treasure Keepers - New Slorg Den Adventure Map
  • posted on November 22, 2011, 6:42 pm NST

A new Slorg Den adventure board has been added to the Sewers. You can find this map on the second page of the sewer adventures. (Note: This map contains a boss enemy, but it has the same name/hp as the regular enemies. This may change in later updates.)

A new Green Doglefox has been added to the Shopshop for 75 FB credits. Check out the full petpet listing on our guide.
Treasure Keepers - Updates and New Hidden Achievements
  • posted on November 19, 2011, 4:01 am NST

A new adventure map has been released at the Docks. Attack of the Tentacle Beast can be found on the second page of adventures at the Docks.
(Side Note: This map contains a boss monster, but it has the same name/hp as the regular monsters on the map. This may change in later updates.)
There are also no quests for this adventure map yet, they may come in later updates.

Two new hidden achievements will have you redecorating your shop in no time. These two achievements will be listed under the Shop - Selling achievement list.
When completing the 'Light of a Thousand Suns', remember to change your flooring and wallpaper back to the default settings.

Disclaimer: The 'To the Max' achievement has been known to cause the game to crash. Please use caution when attempting to unlock this achievement.
You will have to fill every bit of floor space. You can use carpeting to cover the area in front of your shop door and other decor and table items to fill in your entire shop. You do not have to cover the walls.

In the recent update, the game developers have removed the option to select the carpeting with your mouse to move it. You now have to use the move cursor provided in the game menu. Hover your mouse over the white arrow cursor and select the blue move cursor. You can now move your carpets around the shop.

Hey! Why not leave a comment and let us know what you think of the game and recent updates!
Good News! + Item Updates
  • posted on November 2, 2011, 12:36 pm NST

Good news, everyone! Some of you may have noticed the slower updates on Treasure Keepers, along with the lack of visible Meteor Games staffers on their forums. Wild rumors went viral, but it was all for naught. Treasure Keepers is here to stay. Meteor Games just needed all hands on deck to put out a fire with one of their other games.

Hi everyone,

Firstly Butch, thanks for taking the time to write such a creative and well written post. Your comments about pricing have been noted and we will discuss possible changes with our game designers.

So, it seems you are all wondering what is happening with NTK.

As you may have noticed we have slowed down development on the game for the time being. We are still working with Neopets, and there are no plans to retire or otherwise discontinue the game.

We are still supporting NTK and will be continuing to post updates periodically. We have a new update tentatively scheduled for next week which should fix a number of bugs and reduce the game height dramatically. These fixes are being QAed right now so it is a bit early to say for sure if they will be next week or the following, but it will be soon. Additional content, levels and items are in the works also.

You have seen less of our support staff as they have all been working their socks off to deal with the aftermath of the recent IP outage. We are almost caught up there, and you should see more of Juniper and all in the near future.

Hope that answers your questions,

Thanks for caring,
Griffy Meteor

So, keep on leveling, adventuring, and fulfilling those pesky demands of Michelle!

Also on that note, we've went through and updated all of our item lists to include updated rarities, updated suggested prices (which are difficult to find in game!), and locations for what adventures items can be found on. A good chunk of items can be found everywhere, but a bunch are also only available from specific boards.

If you notice any errors or have suggestions, feel free to contact us!
Treasure Keepers - Updates 10-5-2011
  • posted on October 5, 2011, 9:21 am NST

A number of new updates have been added!

In the past, we have stressed that items will drop on any map, regardless of type. This made finding the appropriate Resistance Quest item difficult. Each zone will now only drop specific types of items. We will be adding a list of these items to the Adventure Maps guide by this weekend, at the earliest.

The "sell to friends" option has been removed. You can now place items on a "reserved" table once you reach level 6. The reserved items can only be sold to friends.

To advertise items you want to sell to friends, you will need to place a Reserved table. Items placed on this table will be for friends only.

You will want to advertise your sale to all of your friends. Click (and hold) on the table to activate the options for that table. You will see the options to Move, Rotate, Place item, Store, or Advertise. Clicking Advertise, you will be able to post a notice to all of your friends that you have items for sale. If they purchase the items on your reserved table, you can earn more achievements.

A number of new Achievements have been added. Soon you will be able to earn the Networking and Supply and Demand achievement tiers. To earn the Networking achievement, you will need to advertise your sale items to your friends. To earn the Supply and Demand, your friends will need to purchase items from your reserved table.

TK Guide Update: Item Images and Levels
  • posted on August 27, 2011, 1:26 pm NST

We're updating our Treasure Keepers guide item lists to include two new features!

Firstly, item images! This was one of the most requested features when we released our Treasure Keepers guide, and we're finally getting around to adding them. Right now, most item images will be broken images, but we plan on slowly filling them in over the next week. We don't anticipate needing any help just yet, but if we do, we'll be sure to let you guys know.

Secondly, we've added the level that items are available at. One of the common misconceptions we've seen on the various Treasure Keepers boards are that certain items come from certain boards. This is only true for the small set of items that are exclusive to the adventures you unlock by having a certain number of friends. All other items are available on all maps, but do not pop up until you reach a certain level.

For example, one of the most wanted items, the Ultranova, does not show up until you are Level 15. Once you're level 15, you can find it on any board!

We hope that these updates are something you guys will find useful. We have a whole slew of additional updates in queue, including decor previews, more information on various features (such as the Explorer's Guild and Gifting), and a shop showcase! Want to see something else? Let us know!
New Decor Meter and Achievement Code Icon
  • posted on August 23, 2011, 2:23 pm NST

Minor game updates!

A new tutorial for the Deco-meter has been introduced. This meter will keep track of how many decoration points you have earned for your shop. If your shop is well decorated, your customers will be happy to come by and shop. If your shop doesn't have many decorations, they will be less likely to shop. So get decorating! (Currently, the Shopshop is not loading for many users, this should be resolved soon.) More information about this new feature will be added to our shop guide shortly!

A full meter = a full shop!

Another important update is the new achievement code icon. You can now find a Nova icon at the corner of any achievement that has a code. So if you have missed any, you can now visit your achievement page and redeem them. You can find more achievements that give special codes in our achievement guide.

Treasure Keepers Coming to Open Beta
  • posted on July 31, 2011, 8:51 pm NST

Neopets' new Facebook game, Treasure Keepers, went into premium beta testing on June 16th. Testers were given the ability to play the game up to level 20, while giving feedback on gameplay and reporting technical glitches. You can see more game screenshots here.

While tending to your shop, you meet new characters that ask you to collect items for them.

What luck, I have found it!

To finish a quest, you enter an adventure board game. As you travel along the board, you collect items, coins and encounter monsters to battle.

Excuse me, do you happen to know the way to the Palace Gardens?

Keeping a petpet by your side can help you in tricky situations during adventures. They can help you solve puzzles or even battle a monster.

But be careful not to get too weak, or you might have to flee from a monster to keep all that you collected.

Sorry! Didn't know that was your sandwich!

After collecting items, you can sell them in your shop. You can also spruce up your shop with new wallpaper, flooring and many decorative items.

The premium beta testers have been having fun, but the Meteor Games Treasure Keepers staff have announced that the game will be in open beta soon.

Neopets: Treasure Keepers Open Beta Coming! - Firstly, thanks to all of you in the Closed Beta for your enthusiastic support for the game! Your feedback, suggestions and optimism has been extremely important to the developers and we thank you for all your efforts. We truly couldn't have done it without you.

Development on the game has progressed significantly over the past few weeks and we're pleased to announce that very soon, the game will be entering its Open Beta phase and will be opened to the larger Facebook community. We've added new features, additional quests and more adventuring opportunities. We can't wait to share these exciting updates with you!

As part of that change, we will be deleting all player data that has been accumulated during Closed Beta. We'll have more information upcoming posted here as to the timing and specifics, but we wanted to give everyone a head's up as soon as we knew.

As an extra special thanks for your help, the developers have put together an exclusive package of goodies for all Closed Beta participants. What will be in the package? Maybe some super special wallpaper? Maybe a statue to place in your shop? Maybe a...?

Well...we can't tell *all* of the secrets in Neopets: Treasure Keepers just yet! Just know that no one outside our Closed Beta players will ever have access to these exclusive treasures.

Look back here for more announcements in the coming days. Thanks again for your help and support!

-The NTK Team

Yes, this means that all of your progress will be destroyed and you will have to start over.

All my hard work flushed away?!?!

But wait! Closed beta testers will be receiving a special package! That will hopefully reduce the pain of having to start anew.

*pokes package*

Although we don't know when the game will be in open beta, we will keep you informed when it happens.

You are not prepared!

In collaboration with Meteor Games, Neopets is now launching the new Treasure Keepers Facebook game. In this game you are given a shop to maintain and sell items. You collect items by going on adventures and completing quests.

Shop Tutorial | Item Vault | Portal City Map

While playing the adventure games, you can land on tiles that will award items and experience points. On each adventure game map, you will have a battle encounter. Completing a battle awards more experience, coins, and items.

Adventure Reward

Sometimes shoppers will ask for your help. They will send you on a quest to collect items from the adventure games. You can view your quest log to see where to find the items.

When you complete the tutorial to open your shop, you are awarded your first achievement. The achievement lists a Neopets code that links directly to neopets.com - Currently the link is a 404, but this may give a special item after closed beta.

Feel free to give feedback on the beta tester forum!
Treasure Keepers - Premium Beta Testing
  • posted on June 16, 2011, 7:29 pm NST

This is a new Facebook game made in collaboration with Neopets creators Adam and Donna (who work at Meteor Games). Premium members are allowed to sign up for the beta testing from the Portal.

  • Q. Does signing up guarantee that I'll get to play in the closed beta?
    A. Alas, no. To ensure we can read all of the feedback in a timely manner, this round of beta testing will be kept small, so spots are limited.

  • Q. Will you let me know if I get into the beta?
    A. Yep! We'll send you a Neomail letting you know whether or not the Facebook account you signed up with has been granted access to the beta.

  • Q. Can I sign up for the beta with more than one Facebook account?
    A. Sorry, no. Since there are limited spots, we ask that you only sign up with one account.

  • Q. Once I sign up, can I change which Facebook account I've signed up with?
    A. Nope. If you have multiple Facebook accounts, be sure you're signing up with the one you really want to use!

  • Q. If I do allow you to access my Facebook information, what are you going to do with that information?
    A. The only two pieces of Facebook account info we'll store are the account ID (so that we know which Facebook account to give access to) and your name (so that we can display it here after you sign up). This information will be shared with Meteor Games, the game's developer. It will not be stored with your Neopets account information and will be deleted when the closed beta is complete. We won't store, use, or share any other pieces of Facebook account info for the beta.

  • Q. Meteor Games? Who's that?
    A. Meteor Games is the online gaming studio we're working with to develop Treasure Keepers. They make cool Facebook games like Island Paradise. If their name sounds familiar, that's because the company was founded by Adam & Donna, who also founded Neopets back in 1999. We had a reunion with lots of hugs and reminisced about the old days before working together to bring this Neopets game to Facebook!

  • Q. What happens to my Treasure Keepers shop after closed beta?
    A. Because this is a closed beta, there is always the possibility that we'll need to clear all progress during and/or after the testing period. While we don't foresee this happening, there may be bugs or balance issues that require us to start everyone over. Keep an eye out on the beta tester forums (linked at the top of the game) for more information.

To sign up for the beta, you must be a Premium Neopets Member and visit your Portal's Beta Testing Module to follow the link there. Testing is open only to select Premium members for the time being. We'll keep you updated as we find out more!

To those who have been accepted to the beta test, you can find updates, submit feedback, and reports bugs over at the Meteor Games forum.
