Let's start this off with a little audience participation, shall we? You there, sir! Yes, you, with the horns and the beady eyes. Think you can resist the hypnotic charm of The Exotic Foreigner? Come up here to find out!
You are getting sleepy...very sleepy...
I said sleepy, not sneezy!
Now, think back, back to when you were a child.
Think about what you wanted to be when you grew up.
When I snap my fingers, you will demonstrate this childhood dream to us.
How come you don't have Unicorn painted pets in your old pet poser? Thanks! ~ Panini_puff
The images were deleted from Neopets' servers a long time ago.
You can still see most of the old Unicorn pets at Neopets Archaeology.
Next up, we take a stroll down Memory Lane, located next to the Hall of Mirrors. Behold, The Unicorn Grarrl! You'd be angry too if you had a protuberance as big as that!
Okay, this has been bothering me for a long time. So let's say I enter my pet in the Customisation Spotlight. After he or she is already entered, can I change their customisation? Or do I have to leave it the way I want it entered for the week? Thanks! ~ z_star_kox
After you enter your pet(s), you can change their outfit to something else. :)
Is it against the rules for your pet's character to be a demon? ~ anonymous
Nope, it's not, as long as you don't put it in a religious context. There are quite a few published stories about demon pets, demon foes, inner demons, etc. as well.
Do you guys have a small collection of what your Neopet says under its image on the left side of the screen? Things like "Why don't you just paint me grey if you're gonna leave me like this?" or something. Also, if you get a Fountain Faerie Quest, how many times can you paint your pet after you complete the quest? Thanks! ~ dog84elaine
*cough cough* Here. *cough cough*
You can take as long as you want to complete a Fountain Faerie Quest, and you can take as long as you want to decide which colour to paint your pet, but you can only use the Fountain for free once after you complete the quest.
How do you get to Jelly World via the Neopets site? I mean, I stared for about half an hour at that map! My eyes started to hurt! I saw no Jelly World! ~ CuboneGirl13
There is no link to Jelly World on the explore map. You can memorise the web address or bookmark the page if you want to get there quick as a wink!
Wait, what am I doing? Never mind, ladies and gentlemen, Jelly World doesn't exist, nor has it ever existed! *cough* Yes yes, bring out the next act--the Miniature Krawk Kwartet!
Why are there only three? Where's Tiny? WHAT? Off on strike?! Oy vey! Cut to the next question! Yes, NOW!
I was browsing through past editorials and eventually made my way over to ColtzanIII's petpage (about the twice painted pets). So anyway, whilst skimming over it, I noticed a picture of what seems to be a Maraquan Chia. I for one have never seen this and am very confused. I've checked the rainbow pool and Chias can't even be painted that colour. What happened? ~ 1_doglefox
That image was made in a graphics program, presumably to maintain the Chia theme. Chias cannot be painted Maraquan...yet. ;)
Do you get to choose the questions you answer in your editorial, or does some higher TJNT entity plop a few pieces of virtual paper on your desk and say "answer these"? I'm curious. ~ Ianskills
The editor that week gets to choose which questions they would like to answer, so don't be discouraged if you do not see your question here yet. If there's a question that looks like it should be answered before too much time has passed (for example, one about a glitch), then The Entity will slip it in at the last minute, before things are published.
I have scored 500 points in Splat-A-Sloth. I am ranked 100 in the high-scores table. The highest score is 500, too. Why is it that I have not received the trophy? ~ deepsiacara28
Only the top 17 users get trophies, but it gets more...complicated...than that. The earlier you send in a score, the better your chances are of getting that shiny sock. If your score goes through but you sent it in the latter part of the month, you'll probably be near the bottom of the list (or not show up on the list at all). Sometimes you might find that your score is held over for review. Once your score is deemed legitimate, you'll be put on the high scores table, pushing people on the bottom up and knocking users out of the top positions. If another batch of reviews is done, you might be knocked off the list by others. It's very difficult to predict exactly when reviews will be processed and how many will be processed at a time.
So if you want the trophy, play Splat-A-Sloth on the first of the month, after the high scores table has been reset, and hope that you get a score of 500 before trophies are awarded at 11:50pm NST. Good luck!
1. Is the Jellyneo Team planning a sleepover or something? On the Staff Listings page, almost every staff member has a picture of a bed, pillow, sleeping cap or whatnot.
2. Is there an option to turn off all the animations on Neopian maps? For example, in Faerieland and Moltara, the maps have a lot of animations, and it slows my computer down. ~ anonymous
JN staff members change their profile picture to fit a monthly theme. The theme for January 2010 was sleep and this month, it's beverages.
You can choose to use GIF/JPEG maps by going to the account preferences page. However, this won't make a difference for the new Faerieland and Moltara maps because GIF versions do not exist for them (the reason for this was explained in a previous editorial).
I have a question about Lost Desert Scratchcards. I got a Scorched Treasure Scratchcard and I got 3 orange circles (what prize is that anyway?). So then I click to collect my prize. But then it showed a note saying "Out to lunch." Was that the prize? ~ anonymous
That wasn't your prize. The Cybunny that runs the place takes daily lunch breaks and you just happened to refresh the page at the right (or wrong) time. Three orange circles means you would've received a Sand Snowball.
I have a question about the Tyrannia Sunset Background that I got from the Burger King Virtual Prize Codes. How much does it cost? I looked at the shop wizard, auctions, and trades but nobody has this background. I also looked at the Item Database. ~ anonymous
The Item Database says it is a No Trade item, which means you can't sell it. The other Burger King Canada virtual prizes are No Trade as well.
Is there any possibility to view only items that are retired in the Item Database? ~ vanilla_sophie
Retired items (excluding retired NC Mall items) are all rarity 180, so just put that in the "Is Rarity" box.
In the 2005 April Fools' prank, some of the "new pets" looked pretty cool. Which of them would you like to have been released? My favourites are the Varwolf and the Sharkaw, so please say one of those two. ~ begla
Hmm, the Sharkaw's not bad, but I also like the tail of the Smewce, and does anybody remember the old version of the "new" Cybunny? I liked the face. If they could combine all of that, we'd have the perfect new pet!
Why does Dave prefer Jellyneo to JellyNeo? ~ Bobba6309
JellyNeo looks weird and unnatural! *shudder*

Can you get anything in a random event? I mean anything from a paint brush to the most random thing you can think of. ~ bellabean_1234
You can't get anything from a random event. Nobody's going to float down and hand you a Chaos Giant Plushie. JN's list of random events is here and it indicates what type of items you can receive. Be sure to click the links at the top if you want to view bad, pointless, winter, or Tyrannian events too!
Is it a requirement to know at least basic HTML (and possibly XHTML, CSS, etc.) to work for JN? Thanks, and you guys are awesome! ~ meow_kitty100
If you are applying for a writing or graphics position then yes, you should know basic HTML and CSS. XHTML knowledge is an asset if you're applying for a Petpet Park position.
To <b> or not to <b>, that is the question!
b as in balance, that is! What? That segue into our balancing act made perfect sense!
Okay, say a user buys an avatar item for cheap, uses the avatar item to get the avatar, and then sells it for the price they bought it for. Is this okay? Please answer this, I really need to know! Thank you so much if this makes it in!! ~ anonymous
Yes, that's fine, although most people price items according to current shop wizard values and not historical cost. What TNT does not want you to do is buy up hundreds or thousands of a particular item in order to purposely inflate its price.
Why is it that you use the alt tag instead of the title tag in the image tags that are generated when you obtain the petpage coding for wishlists? A number of people use this in lieu of putting the image name down below the picture without realising that not all browsers display the alt tag when you mouse over an image or realizing that this problem can be fixed by simply using the title tag. ~ pikakeet
Because the person who coded wishlists likes the alt tag...? You'll find that JN uses the alt tag for layout and article images too. I agree though that the title tag would be better and I'll see if a programmer can fix this.
Why do you have so many broken images in the site themes section? Thank you! ~ pinkkea
There are some broken images on the site themes page because TNT didn't upload certain icons for certain themes.
I searched high and low through the Editorial Database but I can't seem to find an answer. Can Neohome 2.0 items be placed into Classic Neohomes or would that be like trying to shove Vista .docx files into a Windows 98? I'm a PC despite all the headaches. :) ~ katpow89
Yes, those that were originally designed for Classic Neohomes. For example, the Rainbow Arm Chair was a Classic Neohome furniture item but it is now also compatible with Neohome 2.0. It will work in both versions. Items that were created specifically for 2.0, such as the Puppet Theatre, cannot be placed into Classic.
Incidentally, it is possible to shove .docx files into Windows 98. There are many converter programs out there...and then there's OpenOffice.
I see NC Album skins at the Mall all the time. I was wondering if you get a trinket or something along with it like you do when you purchase Key Quest tokens. Or is it only the skin that you are getting? ~ strangergirl86
At the moment, you only get the skin. After you activate it, you can switch to it through the Album Management page.
Alas, we're nearing the end of our show, but what a finale it will be! Fresh from their worldwide tour, the Scamander Sisters have promised us an entirely new magic routine! Their first trick is a variation of the old "Disappearing Coin Act." Any volunteers from the audience?
Ah, uh...hmmm...ta da...?
