CollatCollat
[kɒl'Št]
noun
Abbreviation for "collateral". Something (usually a sum of Neopoints) temporarily swapped for an item which is being lent to you. If for some reason you decide not to return the lent item, the lender is free to keep the collateral. This acts to discourage people from "borrowing" expensive items just to run off with them.
Example Usage:
"And she asked me for three times the item's worth in collat! To heck with that. I'm looking for another lender."
