Brucey B and the Lucky Coin: Remastered
  • Posted by Dave

Continuing onward in our quest to preserve old Flash-based Neopets storylines, we are excited to announce the next event series that we've remastered: Brucey B and the Lucky Coin!

We meet Brucey B, just as he wins the 3rd annual Cheat! championship. Shortly after his win, Brucey B receives a letter inviting him to participate in a high stakes game of Cheat! As we quickly learn, Brucey B's luck runs out and he loses something near and dear to him—his lucky coin. Join him, Capara, and Princess Fernypoo as they trek across Neopia to get it back in this plot all the way from 2001!

For more information on Flash retiring (and how to re-enable it in your web browser), see our End of Flash Support guide.

And stay tuned for our next remastered story line coming in a few weeks!

Wow, unbelievable work you all do. Thank you I look forward to this story as it was before I knew about neopets.

Thanks again!
What about the Advent Calendar animations? You need some help?

Advent Calendar animations are on the way We're waiting till they're in season in December!

Unfortunately, the method we're using to preserve most of the old Flash content requires a paid license to some specialized software, so helping is not that easy.

Thanks for this, I will have to go check it out as I was not yet on Neo back then

TNT stated in the last editorial that they're willing to accept development help from users if someone de-Flashes a game or something. Would y'all be eventually contributing these or any other de-Flashing you do?
roshchodesh, October 20, 2020 1:49 PM NST
Except they should get PAID
dave - JN Staff, October 20, 2020 3:16 PM NST
@alli_draggy: No, no plans for that!

Man oh man, I can’t wait for the Faerie’s Ruin plot to be ‘De-flashed’! (Unless it already is on the site and I just missed that bit of info. meaning there’s no need to de-flash something that’s already done...lol!)

Hanso and Brynn are some of my favorite characters!
sandy_puppy, October 21, 2020 6:59 AM NST
Also, could we possibly donate to help cover the cost of the de-flash software you guys are using?

The reason I’m asking is because I know the ‘Donate to JN’ page covers the web hosting costs, but could that possibly be used to cover the flash software cost as well? If so, I’ll donate $100 in a heartbeat (I’m just not 100% sure if it goes straight to the web hosting service or if you could use the donations for other JN related things)!

@sandy_puppy: Appreciate the thought! But the software we use is a one-time purchase, so it's already been paid for and we're good!

To clarify, our donations (http://www.jellyneo.net/?go=donate_to_jellyneo) can only be used for our web hosting costs, as you said. That's because the money goes directly to our web host, and is applied directly to our account as a credit, which we can't "cash out" for anything else. Even though we're paid up for 2020, any extra donations we get simply go into our credits bucket and the plan will be to keep JN online indefinitely, even if Neopets were to one day close its doors, until that money runs out.
