Mystery Island Training School
At the Mystery Island Training School, you are able to train your Neopet for the Battledome. You can use this Training School until your pet reaches Level 250, at which point you will need to go to the Secret Ninja Training School.
There are five attributes you can train. For more information on what these attributes do for you in the Battledome, check out our explainer at the In-Depth Battlepedia.
- Strength
- Defence
- Agility (a.k.a. movement)
- Endurance (a.k.a. hit points)
- Level
Limitations
All stats are only allowed to be trained to twice your pet's level, except for Hit Points (Endurance), which can go three times higher than your level. However, if your Hit Points is more than twice your level, you will not be able to train any other stat. In order to train other stats once again, you must train your level up until your Hit Points is at most twice your level.
In addition, unlike the Swashbuckling Academy, once you select a course you cannot cancel it, even if you haven't paid yet. Make sure you've selected everything properly before starting!
Paying For Courses
Each time you take a course, you will be asked to pay with codestones. The codestones you are asked for are chosen randomly each time; they have no connection with your pet or course selection.
You can get codestones through random events, from other users' shops, as prizes from some dailies, or from fighting in the Battledome. When you want to pay, you should have your codestones in your inventory and then click the "here" in "Click here to pay." to pay and start your training.
Courses cannot be cancelled, and once you sign up for a course you cannot sign up for another until you pay (and complete) the course you are already signed up for. The course signup remains even if a pet is transferred or abandoned.
Length of Courses
The higher level your pet is, the longer and costlier the training session will be. The table below shows the levels.
Course Type | Level of Pet | Cost | Time |
Grasshopper | 20 and Below | 1 Codestone | 2 Hours |
Basic | 21-40 | 2 Codestones | 3 Hours |
Intermediate | 41-80 | 3 Codestones | 4 Hours |
Adept | 81-100 | 4 Codestones | 6 Hours |
Advanced | 101-120 | 5 Codestones | 8 Hours |
Expert | 121-150 | 6 Codestones | 12 Hours |
Master | 151-200 | 7 Codestones | 18 Hours |
Grand Master | 201-250 | 8 Codestones | 24 Hours |
Completing a Course
At the end of your training, you will need to press the button "Complete Course" in order for the new statistics to take effect. If not, your pet will sit there, waiting for you to press it.
When you complete a course, your pet will usually only get 1 point in the trained area. Occasionally, however, you might get a 2 point boost and, rarely, a mega 3 point boost! (And on super rare occasions, up to 4 or 5 or even 6 point boosts have been recorded.) The odds of receiving these bonus stat points are as follows:
Boost Increase | Odds |
2 | 1/10 (10%) |
3 | 1/100 (1%) |
4 | 1/1000 (0.1%) |
5 | 1/10,000 (0.01%) |
6 | 1/100,000 (0.001%) |
