Tale of Woe Plot Coverage
Day 7: October 27th
Chapter 7 of the "A Tale of Woe" story is up. Read it here.
After reading, you can begin the plot!
1. Go to Sophie's Shack. You will then get some dialogue and some "items".
2. Notice that the contents of your cauldron start out red:
When you click on the items listed below, you are adding them into the cauldron:
Bumroot | Leafy Slorgblossom | Crushed Jurpleberries
For the first part, you want the cauldron to turn green, blue, then purple (you should only need 3 clicks to do this):
We highly suggest getting a piece of paper out and marking down what ingredients do what. For example, go through and try each ingredient until you get the green color, then mark down what that ingredient was. When you get a wrong color, just add random ingredients until the potion explodes and you can start over. Then, use the same ingredients that you've written down to get back to where you were and add a different ingredient. It's basically a giant guess and check problem. Yay?
Example Piece of Paper:
Green --> Salt
Blue --> Leafy Slorgblossom
Purple --> Bumroot
If you're still confused, check out our forum discussion and read through some of the topics labeled as chapter 7. There are multiple methods in there posted by many forum members.
Yes! I think we've got it. Bruno, go ahead and give this a try.
Ugh... I feel a little weird...
That's... an interesting effect.
Oh, you think this is funny, do you?
Well, that clearly didn't work. I'll have to try something else. Maybe a different base potion... yes... Now, these ingredients will have a different effect than before, but it should work this time!
3. Now the cauldron is red again, and you get more items to add:
Bumroot | Leafy Slorgblossom | Crushed Jurpleberries | Salt
Now you want the cauldron to turn green, blue, purple, gray, pink, then rainbow (you should only need 6 clicks to do this):
Okay, this time for sure. Drink it down, Bruno!
I hope this one at least tastes better than last time.
Yecch! Too much salt. Or possibly not enough.
Aww, I always wanted a little brother.
I live for the sake of your amusement, sister.
He's not going to stay that small, is he?
No, no, almost... probably... not.
Perhaps... yes! I've got it. I'll have to use a different potion base again, but this one's sure to work... if we put in the right ingredients... and it doesn't explode.
4. Now we're almost done this horribly frustrating part of the plot. Again, more ingredients are available, and the cauldron is red.
Bumroot | Leafy Slorgblossom | Crushed Jurpleberries | Salt | Bronze Sansam
You want your cauldron to turn green, blue, purple, gray, pink, rainbow, swirly green, spakrly purple, then swirly red and white (you should only need 9 clicks to do this):
The result is a cliffhanger:
