A gust of cold wind assaults you as you enter this vast ice cavern. In the center you see a massive pile of treasure... thousands, possibly millions of rare Neopian items, the biggest hoard you have ever seen.
On top of the pile of treasure you see a massive worm made out of ice. This must be none other than the Snowager! You have heard legends about this beast, about its greed, and how it likes to eat Neopets for every meal (and sometimes between meals too!)
The Snowager is currently sleeping...
Do you want to venture in and try to steal some of its treasure? If so click here. Be warned... if it catches you, you will be in DEEP trouble! Otherwise click the button below to go back to the Ice Caves!
The Snowager is asleep during the following hours. You may approach him once during each hour he slumbers:
- 6:00am - 7:00am NST
- 2:00pm - 3:00pm NST
- 10:00pm - 11:00pm NST
If you try to visit more than once within the allotted times you will receive a warning message:
You dont want to try and enter again for a while...
the Snowager may wake up...
Come back later.
If you try to visit outside of those hours you will find him awake and that is never a good thing:
The Snowager is awake!!! You better run before it eats you!!!
(maybe you should come back when it is sleeping!)
Starting in December 2011, the Snowager began an annual hibernation during the entire month of December. While he is in hibernation, you can visit him once per day at any time. (Initially, you were able to visit him once every 2 hours, but this was then limited to once per day.)
Each time you visit the Snowager during his slumbering hours, you have a chance at picking up one of the items below. More often than not, however, you will walk away empty handed.
You can pick up any item with the word "keyring" in its name that is rarity 69 and below.
"You carefully walk in and pick up a keychain from the pile of treasure, and then run quickly away!"
You can pick up any item with the word "negg" in its name that is rarity 69 and below.
"You carefully walk in and pick up a negg from the pile of treasure, and then scamper!!"
You can pick up any item with the word "plushie" in its name that is rarity 79 and below.
"You carefully walk in and pick up a plush toy from the pile of treasure!"
You can pick up one of three different Terror Mountain-based scratchcards.

These are scratchable at the Ice Caves Scratchcard Kiosk.

The following prizes are only found in the Snowager's cavern. You cannot win them from anywhere else.
"You carefully walk in and hastily pick up an item from the pile of treasure!"
More often than not, you will not receive anything...
- The Snowager moves slightly in its sleep... you decide to run just in case it wakes up!
- The Snowager awakes, looks straight at you... then moans and goes back to sleep. You were lucky!
...and to add insult to injury you might even get blasted for your troubles.
- ROOOOAARRR!!! - The snowager rears up and fires an icy blast at you and (insert your pet's name)!!!!
- ROOOOAARRR!!! - The snowager rears up and fires a MASSIVE icy blast at you and your Neopets!!! Oh no!!!
There is one perk that keeps many Neopians coming back despite the danger: the elusive avatar.
"You are now eligible to use 'Snowager - Rawr!' as an avatar on the NeoBoards!"
There is also the chance of receiving the Snowager as a Battledome challenger if he wakes up and blasts your Neopet.
