News and Updates

  • May 25, 2009, 1:08 am NST - Darigan Citadel will be the only team this year to have a change in their team roster. According to this Darigan Team Background, the lineup will be Layton Vickles, Tormo Frein, Kep Bonnefie and Tandrak Shaye. The final team member will be Mungo Lifler, who will be coming out of retirement to replace last year's rookie Reshar Collifey. Although the rookie had quite an outstanding first year winning runner-up as the most valuable player, perhaps the team wanted the veteran player back for another great year. You can find more team graphics and freebies here.

  • May 24, 2009, 12:42 am NST - With the Altador Cup due to start in less than a month's time, it's probably time to start spiffying up your userlookups, shops, guilds, pet lookups, and petpage with some fancy images to show what team you're behind!

Just like last year, we've set up a section with a large variety of support graphics. Check it out now! Each team is well represented.

We also have posted our first article in a series about the history of each Altador Cup team! Our newest staff member, Zelda, will be helping to cover the AC updates this year, and she's already put together information on Roo Island's past performance in the AC. Read it now! And look for more posts soon! :)

Don't forget that JN will be bringing you 100% advertisement free Altador Cup IV coverage from now up until the last game is played! For updates on what we've found so far, check out our coverage section and bookmark it!

(Secret: Rumor has it that the JN staff will once again be duking it out to see who is the better AC player... we'll have more updates on that later. ;D)
  • May 23, 2009, 9:53 pm NST - As you probably know by now, the Fourth Annual Altador Cup is approaching! So, leading up to the Cup, we thought we'd introduce you to the teams to get you in the mood for some Yooyuball!

    First, the reigning champions,

    ROO ISLAND

Let's begin with the captain, Lilo Blumario. Blumario has played for his home team for all three years of the Altador Cup. An illustrious, yooyuball player, Blumario has been nominated for the Most Valuable Player award every single year. In 2007, he was the runner-up, and in 2008, he won the award. He has also been a forward on the All-Star Team in 2006 and the All-Neopia First Team in 2007 and 2008.

The Roo Island goalie is the capable, but sometimes inconsistent Clutch Billaban. Also a native of Roo Island, Billiban has played in the Cup all three years and was even nominated for the All-Star team in 2006.

Originally, Roo Island's second forward was the Lenny Dayla, one of the fastest players in the Cup. However, Dayla did not sign up to return to the Cup in 2007 and was replaced by Jair Tollet.

Jair Tollet played as a forward on Team Maraqua in 2006 before transferring to Team Roo Island. She hasn't yet been nominated for any awards, but this year looks promising for Tollet.

Roo Island's first defender is Fenny Vail. Though not the most accurate player, Vail has improved a lot recently and is looking forward to defending her team's title this summer. Vail was the Most Improved Player in 2006 and a member of the All-Neopia Second Team in 2007.

The final player on the Roo Island team is Gordo Gunnels, one of the most terrifying defenders to play in the Altador Cup. His awards include a nomination for the All-Star Team in 2006 and a position on the All-Neopia First Team in 2007 and 2008.

A few facts about the team as a whole:
    - Roo Island's worst placement in the Cup was 4th place in 2006.
    - They won the Most Sportsmanlike Team award in 2006.

Oh, and they happen to hold this shiny trophy currently....
  • May 19, 2009, 4:08 pm NST - We've been slowly bringing more Altador Cup IV goodness to JN! Here's what we have added thus far:

    Corner support banners are back!
That's right, you can again select your favorite team and show off your support in the top left corner of JN. :) To select your team, visit our Site Preferences page, scroll down to the Altador Cup section, select your team from the drop down menu, and voil, it will automatically update! :D

No, this is not a subliminal message.

    My AC Record is back!
The ever popular AC Records are back, and you may now sign up for your very own images. Simply visit the jnAccount Services Portal to get started. (You will need a valid jnAccount to sign up!) Once you're in, you'll notice we re-designed it a bit to look nicer, along with redoing some of the functions so that they're easier to understand. :)

  • May 19, 2009, 2:46 pm NST - Altador Cup 4 players will be happy to know that one of this year's prizes will be a special Yooyu Key Quest Token. Thanks to Hannah via email for letting us know. Make sure you redeem your prizes from last year's games by visiting the Prize Shop. This will be your last chance to redeem them before the shop closes on June 2nd.

Let's see if you can score me as a prize this year!

Remember to check out our ad-free coverage of this year's games here.
  • May 15, 2009, 7:55 pm NST - This year's Kiko Lake Team will feature a comeback from the once injured Holbie Pinnock, "Poke" Cellers, Meela Kitah, and Ditan Colb. The most surprising revelation is the newest player, who resembles Brightvale's teammate Erli Quinnock. Could this mean the players are switching teams while Helmo Timm sits this years games out, or do we have a new player this year?

  • May 9, 2009, 10:18 pm NST - Thanks to our friends over at TheDailyNeopets, we have word on what team will not be competing in this year's Altador Cup!

As you can see below on the right, the board icon has been uncovered for what will be the AC4 Neoboard. Compared to the icon on the left from AC3, you'll notice that Kiko Lake is back in, and Brightvale has been removed.

    -->
Brightvale out... Kiko Lake in! :)

This quells multiple rumors that have been circulating about the possibility of more teams being added this year instead of one being dropped. Looks like the Neovians, Geraptikans, and folks from Neopia Central are spending another year unrepresented at the Cup.

As you might have expected, we'll be covering the fourth annual Altador Cup right here on Jellyneo! Keep checking our coverage section in the coming weeks for more AC news, information, and goodies! (We'll be ACifying soon enough. ;D) This year's Cup is sure to be as exciting as ever, so stay tuned to Jellyneo for all of your AC needs.

No clue what the Altador Cup is? Take a look back at our Altador Cup III coverage and browse through our Book of Ages character database for player profiles!

Oh, and here's a sneak peek at the Altador Cup Score counters you'll be able to generate, right here on JN! We're going to be doing a little housecleaning and then re-release it in a few weeks for everyone to sign up!

Hmm, this person did horribly last year! Oh, and KI FTW! :D
